Personality: Jared is largely a grump. If you’ve met him for the first time, I assure you, he will not be nice. He’s sarcastic and scathing, more of a curmudgeon than Scrooge. But Jared’s got a hidden side too. Once you get past the prickles (and believe me, there are a lot of prickles) he’s actually a nice guy. He can make a good joke when he tries and after you realize he’s not as mean as he seems, Jared largely just seems…alone.
Appearance: This or That
He’s a tall man, easily six foot or a few inches taller than that, with red-brown skin rough from being outdoors. He has high cheekbones and a firm jaw, accompanied by a strong nose, straight as an arrow on his face. Long black hair fell in thick layers around his face but most of it was roughly tied back into a ponytail. But out of everything that made up Jared Montour physically, one thing describes him best. Jared is half-blind, a victim of closed-edge glaucoma, making his eyes a muddy brown color rather than the rich color they should have been. But despite this, they were intense, like fire, and seemed to look right into you and leave no part of you unscathed. Jared Montour’s half-blind gaze seemed to see more of you than those with 20/20 vision.
Job: Jared is a music critic and one of the most feared. He’s only given a good review in his entire career once. One time. ONE. He has yet to give another in five years.
Talents: Music. Jared may be a critic and he might not always have nice things to say about the various bands he has to listen to, but that doesn’t stop his love for the instrument himself. Jared was, in the beginning of his life in Hollywood, a studio bassist and was on a lot of platinum records. But after the glaucoma struck, he was largely shunned from the music scene due to rumors that he wouldn’t be able to play without music. But despite this, he still plays but rarely, if ever, for an audience.
